The void.

Her life was an enigma.

Her struggles were a riddle.

Her sorrows were a paradox.

She dreamt of being a hero.

A hero, to save none, but herself.

Orphaned by the gods, mutilated by the rapists, whored by men, all she had was her courage, unparalleled !

She escaped, she ran away from the predators of flesh to a land far off.

She started a little business, a shop around the street corner, selling dolls, hoping to see a glimpse of her childhood again.

She met a man in the land far off , wise for his age, a Greek god by his looks,

Got a doll for a coin for his only daughter, who lacked a mother’s affection.

This exercise of buying dolls and interplay went on for a while, before he whispered his endearments.

Wanting her to suffice not only him but also his child, he offered her marriage.

Wasn’t long before, memories surged her reality.

She disclosed the despotism, the monstrosity, the disgrace that her life has brought upon her.

He vowed to protect, cherish and love her till the end of his last day.

How could she devote herself to fill someone else’s void, when her own life was barren ?

She rebuffed his offer with stone in her heart, his unrequited love left without any acceptance from her.

While the dark clouds smouldered into red, he said,“ I am going on a war to end all wars. I will be back soon”.

She very well knew, he did be a part of the holocaust, the ethnic cleansing or die fighting for the authoritarian.

Six months passed, and she had no communique from the Nazis.

She plumped for fostering the kiddiewink, to cuddle and corset her.

She discovered an overparent within her soul, the colossal voids cautiously filling up.

Consumed by the epidemic, it wasn’t long until the child was gone.

Despondently, she gawked at the skies, thinking who will now fill the void?
