This is something that always keeps me motivated no matter how bad my day has been. Life is going to be cruel at times..it is going to knock you down real bad..bitter truth, isn’t it? We will encounter failures more often than we’ll encounter success..we’ll have to see sadness and despair again and again and again. BUT, just because you failed at something, doesn’t mean you’ll fail in everything !
I mourn over it for two days or maybe three. Then I move on. I never let it stay with me for more than 3 days.
When life hits you hard, hit back harder !
IDENTIFY YOUR STRENGTHS- Each one of us has different calibre and different potentials. Thinking that achieving the same goal in the same time with the same approach is vague. Unacceptable. Unrealistic.
For example- Take the five fingers in your hands. Each one of them is different in size, girth, length and strength. Each one has a different functional property. If the fingers of your own hands have such disparity, how can you expect everyone to be at par with their achievements and winning abilities.
HUG YOUR FAILURES -What we need to acknowledge is failure is a part of success. You have to fail constantly in order to grow. Failures make you thorough with your mistakes. Failures are like Mock test papers, they get you ready before the actual test. Failure is inevitable. And nothing comes easy. Failures give space for your skill and knowledge to be mastered.
NEVER EVER reinterpret your failures as your gains.
Don’t engage in hedonic editing and convince yourself that failures don’t matter. THEY VERY MUCH DO ! If you don’t learn from them, it is unfortunate!
RECOGNISE WHEN YOU HAVEN’T SUCCEEDED.- A lot of us don’t welcome our failures warmly. It changes us. I believe that the ability to accept your mistakes and recognise your errors will help you avoid the same failures again. Recognizing your error means there are more chances that you’ll re-cast it into something that has better chances of succeeding.
ALWAYS BE OPEN TO FEEDBACK AND CRITICISM- It will help you deal with failures in a very professional approach.
DON’T QUIT- We quit so easily when things go wrong. Getting down, losing and failing at something isn’t failure at all. My friend says, we either win or we learn. Failing is when you refuse to get up!
When it comes to failing, our egos are our own worst enemies. As soon as things start going wrong, our defense mechanisms kick in, tempting us to do what we can to save face. Yet, these very normal reactions — denial, chasing your losses, and hedonic editing — wreak havoc on our ability to adapt.
LET IT GO- Your failures won’t define you.
What you really need to do is see beyond the hopelessness and misery and start again with lots of new hope and lots of determination to succeed and lots of optimism to combat any failure whatsoever. Good luck !

Yes, it’s always important to identify what you could do better – that’s why I’m delighted when anybody gives me criticism of what I publish on my blog (such a shame people are reluctant to do that). You chose some inspiring examples. Edison was amazingly persistent. He tried hundreds of different materials before he succeeded in inventing the electric filament lamp.
Just one thought crosses my mind, though. It’s really important to define what success or failure mean for yourself.

Rightly said Penny. I am working on this criticism thing and I’ve a lot to learn about how I deal with it !
Success for me is a result of failures. I measure success on a spectrum. It varies from person to person. If I want something, no matter how small it is, if I succeed in getting it, I consider it as an achievement !
I want people to focus on the importance of persistence. It might not be your lucky day today. But it surely will be someday !

Failure is an pathogen which helps us diagnose the importance of success! It’s inevitable but still as important as victory itself.

Great post, Tajwar! I’ll admit I don’t like the feeling of failing, but I can see that once I get past it, the next try is usually better. 😀

Wow, this was well written. Most people get discouraged at success I guess because they’re either afraid to start over. Thank you so much for sharing with us! So enlightening!

I absolutely agree with what you said. A lot of us give up not realising, maybe we are on the last step of our struggle journey.
